To fully understand, comprehend.  To get one's head around something means to think about it carefully and thoroughly so it can be fully accepted and understood.

完全(かんぜん)に理解(りかい)したり、含蓄(がんちく)する。get one's head around somethingということは、それを注意深(ちゅういぶか)く徹底的(てっていてき)に考(かんが)えて、それが完全(かんぜん)に受(う)け入(い)れられ、理解(りかい)されるようにすることを意味(いみ)します。
